Meet Mshai Mwakidedela Co-Founder of Asili Ya Mwanamke- Natur der Frau e.V., an organisation aiming at empowering girls to take initiative in finding solutions to the problems that affect them.
Mshai is passionate about engaging the boy and girl child in community development projects that solves some of the problems. She shared with us what motivated her to start the organisation, several success stories, how policy makers should be engaged and her voluntary initiative with Diaspora Experts Programme. Mshai studied Social studies at the University in Hamburg and is currently working as a Social Worker in Hamburg. In March/April 2019, Mshai joined the Diaspora Experts Programme initiated by Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) and volunteered in a local school in Kenya.
About Diaspora Experts Programme
This programme offers volunteering opportunities in the country of origin to facilitate knowledge transfer, exchange ideas and to contribute to an easier transition in relocating back. Professionals who have trained and been working in Germany are eligible to apply for the programme. Travel expenses, financial assistance during the voluntary duration, basic health insurance package and local support network are some of the benefits that the organisation offers.
