Kenyan DAAD In-Country Scholarship holder shares on undertaking a PhD in Mechatronic Engineering in Germany.

Wamai Mwangi, a Kenyan DAAD/NACOSTI scholarship holder, is currently doing his PhD in Mechatronic Engineering at the Chemnitz University of Technology. He managed to secure a PhD position with the help of networks he had formed earlier while undertaking a three months internship in Germany, as part of his master’s studies which were partly funded via a DAAD In-Country Scholarship. Wamai shared with us regarding his career path and how he managed to secure a PhD position. His research is on ‘Micromachining nitinol shape memory alloys for medical applications’.
